Groove Juice

Mike, a proud native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, started out playing piano at a young age and then moved to bass guitar in his high school years.  He studied jazz bass at the South Shore Conservatory and remotely with notable bassists Adam Nitti, Cliff Engel, and Anthony Wellington of the Victor Wooten Band.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Music with a concentration in Music Industry from Northeastern University. 

Mike has performed in many bands over the years including popular ska band Stick Figure Stanley, Northeastern University's Jazz Big Band,  Confusion External, Second Audio Program, Get Up, Ley Lynes, Fishing with Fredo, Spank, and is currently the co-founder and bassist for Groove Juice.  

His main influences on the bass are John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Anthony Wellington, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, and Stanley Clarke.   Mike appreciates a wide variety of music, and two of his favorite bands are are Jamiroquai and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.

When not playing music, Mike can be found outdoors enjoying nature, kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking.
